Our Fall Social was held on October 30 at the Americana. We had good company, good food, and good conversation!
Hightstown Fair volunteers! We are so lucky to have members giving up some if their previous weekend time to connect with the community. Thank you so much…
East Windsor Education was IN THE HOUSE! Twenty-five of us were at the Mercer Oaks country club for the annual NJEA Fall Focus meeting/dinner. And this year’s focus was CLEAR…Barbara Buono MUST be our next Governor! Ms.Buono spoke to us with the passion she’s been sharing this whole election and motivated us EVEN MORE to get out the Buono vote. On hand as well was our good friend Senator Linda Greenstein and Assemblyman Dan Benson, both of whom are champions of education and running for re-election. Legislative 16 friends, Marie Corfield shared her vision as a leader we need NOW. our very iwn NJEA vice prez Marie Blistan had us pn our feet as she spoke the truth and reminded us of the consequences of a lack of action. So, inspiration, food, friends…what could be better? Thanks to all of you who came tonight.
On Wednesday, August 28, we held our New Teacher Luncheon at Scottos Restaurant. Enjoying a delicious lunch and learning about EWEA, were almost 45 new educators ready to start their careers in East Windsor. They were joined by many members of our EWEA Executive Board who welcomed the new members with open arms. NJEA secretary/treasurer Sean Spiller and his wife Lauren stopped by to make sure our new members knew that they were in great hands…and part of one of the BEST Associations in the state! Mercer County President Christine Clark clearly agreed. We wish them all the best of luck, and welcome them!
On July 25 and 26, the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets will be hosting special savings exclusively for NJEA members!
EWEA seems ready to “work” at the NEA/RA in Atlanta. We’ve been told that they WILL be serious starting Tuesday. We’ll see about that!
Thanks to our phone calls, letters, and other efforts, the state BOE vacated the proposed changes to the special ed regulations and are simply re-adopting the PRESENT code! Our voices were heard…
NOW on to Summer 🙂
