East Windsor Education Association

Leadership – Who Are We?

President: Ellen Ogintz – Ellen is an elementary special education teacher, who has taught in East Windsor for 33 years…and with 10 different superintendents! She is a three time Governor’s Teacher of the Year Recipient, a Mercer County Teacher of the Year, as well as a recipient of the “East Windsor/Hightstown Mayors’ Shining Star Award” for her contributions to the community. She has been an Association Representative, Membership Chairperson, Negotiations Team member, and Vice President for EWEA. She chairs the UNISERV Committee for NJEA. She has served as the EWEA President for the last fourteen years. Ellen is proud to represent the over 530 members of the East Windsor Education Association using  her “ferocious mama bear” approach. She also believes communication is the key…emails, Facebook, this webpage, and most importantly, 1:1 connections and conversations. She is ALWAYS available.  She is confident that the more members know about their Association the more they will want to get involved.
